Covid-19 Update

Update concerning what Top-Notch Cleaning has done and will continue to do concerning the Covid-19 Virus epidemic.

  • Top-Notch Cleaning has postponed residential cleaning during the month of April. We will revisit residential cleaning as it draws closer to May 1st.
    • UPDATE May 1st: After further review of the new stay safe at home Ohio order businesses are being allowed to reopen including retail the 2nd week of May. With this in mind we will re-open our residential services Monday May 11th. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
  • We have finally been able to purchase two (one for each office) medical grade and FDA approved external thermometers. They arrived April 6th and effective immediately all staff will be scanned before their shift. Any staff member with a temperature reading of 100.4 will be sent home immediately as per state law.
  • All staff that is feeling ill is asked to remain home. If a staff member comes into work feeling ill, they will be sent home and must remain off per Ohio law for 72 hours.
  • All staff is advised to wear gloves during their shift.
  • We continue to offer our staff cleaning masks to wear during their shifts.
    • Top-Notch has purchased all staff members cloth masks to wear for work or personal use at their discretion.
    • UPDATE July 15th: For the safety of our staff, clients and visitors anyone entering our offices is required to wear a mask. If you do not have one, we will provide one.
  • Both offices and all company vehicles have hand sanitizer available.
  • At the end of each shift our staff is advised to clean and disinfect all high-touch areas in the crew’s company vehicle and equipment.
  • Top-Notch has invested heavily into our electrostatic cleaning and disinfecting systems that are scheduled to arrive around mid-May. We are thrilled to roll this state-of-the-art service out to the public but also for use in our offices and all company vehicles.
  • Top-Notch Cleaning recently passed on a large new account above Washington, PA. We did this due to the area closer to Pittsburgh, PA having a much higher rate of Covid-19 cases.
  • Over the past few weeks several of our commercial clients have asked questions like the ones listed below. While we want to do everything, we can to assist our valued clients we have politely declined all work tied in anyway to the epidemic. In both real-life cases listed below Top-Notch Cleaning suggested other options and passed on the additional work.
    • In our plant area we recently had someone around an individual confirmed with a case of Covid-19. Can Top-Notch clean their equipment?
    • IF we would eventually have a staff member dealing with a case of Covid-19 can Top-Notch clean their areas of work?
  • For our amazing staff we have tried our best to have this epidemic effect as few as possible. We have been forced to lay off a few ladies from our residential / dayshift crews. Thankfully we have been able to move some staff over to our commercial cleanings on our mid or afternoon shifts.
      • Top-Notch Cleaning recently purchased over $1050 in Riesbeck’s gift cards for our staff. These gift cards where inserted in each employees April 1st paycheck.
      • For the projected “peek-weeks” of the epidemic Top-Notch Cleaning will be paying our staff an extra dollar an hour for the May 1st pay. This pay period runs from April 11th to the 25th. While it may not seems like much this extra dollar an hour resulted in an increase of over $2200+ in payroll.
      • Top-Notch Cleaning has done everything possible to join in on participating with the Paycheck Protection Program. We finally have an app submitted on April 28th. IF we have access to this federal grant we will immediately be able to rehire all staff and raise hours for each staff member company wide.
        • UPDATE May 5th: Top-Notch Cleaning was blessed to have received funding through the PPP. With these funds we have immediately hired back on the few staff that was laid off from our Bridgeport office. We will work to raise all staff’s hours back to pre-epidemic levels as soon as possible. In addition Top-Notch will pay all staff an extra dollar an hour for the next two months! The company plans to payout an additional $15,000+ in bonuses.
        • In addition to the extra dollar an hour for the next two months Top-Notch Cleaning has given our entire staff a permanent fifty cent raise! This raise will immediately take effect on the June 1st paycheck.
